Play is governed by the 2024 Golf Canada Rules of Golf, the 2024 Golf Canada Decisions on the Rules of Golf and, where applicable, by the following local Rules and Conditions of Competition, approved by the PGA of BC Rules Committee, subject to changes, additions or deletions for particular Championships. Unless otherwise noted, penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is Two (2) Strokes.

Penalty Areas are indicated by Red stakes. The margin of the Penalty Area is defined by the edge of the uncut grass, or the edge of the cart path.

Environmentally Sensitive Area: Penalty Area Left of Hole #8 defined by the outside edge of the cart path and red/green stakes entry into and/or play from is prohibited – you must take a penalty stroke and drop at point of entry.

Boulders placed adjacent to cart paths are considered part of the cart path, unless they are inside a penalty area.

See below for a hole by hole description.

Out of Bounds – Rule 27-1 defined by white stakes and property fences, also private property left of #3 and public roads.

As an additional option, if your ball is out of bounds, you are welcome to drop a ball on the fairway adjacent to where your ball crossed out of bounds. This option comes with a 2 stroke penalty, and is not available in competitions, such as our Men’s Open or Club Championships. This option is available in our Guy’s & Girl’s Nights, Match Plays, etc.. This option would be available on hole #3, #4, #5, #6, #9, #10, & #12.

Bunkers

You are welcome to lift, clean and place your ball in the bunkers within one club length and no closer to the hole. Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions – Rule 24-1 (you can move stones without penalty).

Drop Areas

As an additional relief option we have the following drop areas; using any of these drop areas comes with a one stroke penalty.

Hole #7 if your ball is in either the penalty area on the right, or left of the cart path. The drop area is located approximately 50 yards out, right of the cart path.

Hole #8 if your ball does not cross either penalty area on the left or right. The drop area is located at the start of the fairway, at the bottom of the hill.

Hole #9 if your ball ends up in the rocks behind the green – the drop area is located behind the 18th green by the tree stump. There is no sign there.

Hole #13 if your ball ends up behind the green in “pine cone valley”. The drop area is located right of the cart path towards the back of the green.

Hole #18 if your ball ends up long of the green in the rocks or in the hitting nets – the drop area is located across from the hitting nets. There is no sign there.

The trees on the right side of the fairway have tree wells and are currently protected. You can take nearest point of relief from the tree wells, along with stance and swing from the trees themselves. You do not receive relief for line of play. The penalty Area around the creek is defined by the mower line / crushed gravel. Penalty Area on the Left Side of hole inside 125 yards and around the back of the green is defined by the left edge of the cart path.

Penalty Area on the Right Side of hole is defined by the mower line at the top of the hill, not the creek at the bottom. As an additional option, if your ball ends up in the penalty area on the right side of the hole, or left of the cart path, you are welcome to use the drop area approximately 50 yards short of the green.

In tournament play only, if your ball clears the penalty area and lands on hole #5, your ball is in play. This does not apply to non-tournament play.

If your ball does not cross either the right or left penalty area line, there is a drop area at the start of the fairway you can use as an option.

Penalty Area on the Right Side of hole is defined by the mower line.

Penalty Area on Left Side of hole is defined by the outside edge of the cart path, AND play is prohibited out of this ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE AREA. A drop must be taken.

Penalty Area on the Left Side of Hole past the cart path is defined by the mower line.

Out of Bounds is defined by the outside edge of the cart path. If your ball settles in the rocks behind the green, a drop area is available behind #18 green near the tree stump.

OB is defined by the outside edge of the cart path, until short of the green then the Out of Bounds leads around the gold tee deck on hole #11 and is defined by the mower line.

If you lose your ball after hitting your tee shot, there is an optional drop zone located by the cart path at the bottom of the hill. This drop zone is not available during tournament play.

We have added a penalty area on the right side of the hole to give you the option of choosing not to find/play your ball down the embankment.

If your ball settles outside the fence line, you are out of bounds.

If your ball goes over the back of the green, over the cart path, but inside the fence line, good luck! See above regarding rocks adjacent to the cart path.

If your ball ends up behind the green in “pine cone valley”, there is a drop area you are welcome to use to the right of the cart path. This option comes with one penalty stroke.

Penalty Area on Left Side of Hole is defined by the outside edge of the cart path, followed by the mower line, then again on the outside edge of the cart path.

Penalty Area on Left Side of hole is defined by the outside edge of the cart path. Penalty Area on Right Side of hole is defined by the edge of the rocks. If you hit your ball into the rocks or hitting nets behind #18 green, you can drop your ball across the cart path from the hitting nets. This option comes with one penalty stroke.
